This is really organic jewellery

I heard about artist Hubert Duprat's project using caddis-fly larvae some time ago but wanted to post it here after seeing it again here.
Beautiful. And disgusting. Makes me think about pattern and randomness and tessellation.

RIP Lee Alexander McQueen
He was a real inspiration. I've posted about his work here several times and just wanted to mark his passing.

Walford Mill Crafts
After taking part in Walford Mill's Christmas exhibition I'm very happy that they asked me to stay. Some new work is winging its way there now, including this pearl necklace.

New year new studio
It feels soo good to be at Cockpit in my new studio, with some room to swing a cat and a place to mess up and and leave behind at the end of the day when I go back to my more homely feeling home.
I just treated myself to a huge new lamp so I can see what I'm doing. Believe it or not, I was just using the tiny black one you can see on the corner of my table before.
I need a laptop now. I'm at home doing admin as we speak. Tax returns, yikes!

All I Want for Xmas
I'll be back at the Truman Brewery in Brick Lane this weekend for All I Want for Xmas. I'll be there on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th December from 10am - 6pm, with lots of jewellery that isn't available on the website, including one-of-a-kind pieces and some little necklaces in the £35-£50 range that would make great gifts.
So come down and check out the jewellery in the flesh! Blog readersget 20% off!
